Notes:

  • Is that 3-d?  Yup!  You’ll want your handy red/blue 3-d glasses to fully enjoy these beauties.  The Star Wars image is from North Cambridge Family Opera’s production of Space Opera.
  • What’s with the movie posters?  Both were gags. The first I created for David Ellis, president of the Museum of Science, when he retired. Late in his tenure, Jordan’s Furniture opened its first OMNI Theater, competing with us for a meaningful chunk of revenue. We were pissed, David was pissed, and the New England Aquarium (which was just completing construction of its new IMAX theater) was really pissed!  It was a good marketing stunt but truly inconsiderate on the part of the furniture store chain – a black mark in my opinion.  But there wasn’t much to do other than laugh and keep doing our thing.  The second was for a Star Wars fan and member of the planetarium team I led; I photographed her pretending one of our projector bulbs was a blaster, then worked her into the poster.
